The Overtones are set to release new single Something Good on 2nd March, the same day as their new album Sweet Soul Music.
Something Good is produced by Julian Hinton (Seal, Rumer) and written by the band. It’s an uplifting love song in the same vein as the groups’ other original tracks Gambling Man, Loving The Sound and Superstar. It’s the first single to be lifted from Sweet Soul Music.
Sweet Soul Music is a tribute to doo-wop and soul pioneers such as The Drifters, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations. The album is the follow-up to 2013’s Saturday Night at the Movies and is their fourth studio album to date.
In their career to date, The Overtones have sold over 750,000 albums and more recently they collaborated with Michael Ball on Let It Be Me, the first single from his new album If Everyone Was Listening. Group member Timmy Matley also triumphed as the winner of BBC Children in Needās Great British Sewing Bee.
The Overtones will hit the road for a 24-date UK and Ireland theatre tour in support of Sweet Soul Music starting in June.
