The Overtones will release festive single ‘Christmas Everyday’ on 10th November 2023 and the song will support a very personal cause; www.mydiabetesstory.org, launching on 14th November, World Diabetes Day.
Written by American singer songwriter David Archuleta, and produced by Julian Hinton and Simon Bloor, this feel good, festive pop song is The Overtonesā first Christmas song in 4 years. About the joys of Christmas and the anticipation of spending time with family and friends at the most wonderful time of year, the British four-piece canāt wait for its release and to perform it on their forthcoming tour.Ā Pre-save the song now.
Speaking of the track, Mike from The Overtones said: āItās been 4 years since our last Christmas Single! The fact weāre back out on the road for our biggest ever Christmas tour, really means it will be ‘Good Times’ with āChristmas Everydayā. This is a feel good Christmas classic in the making and we canāt wait for people to hear it and see them singing it! Naturally this also combines with raising awareness for something so close to our hearts. Seeing what little Franklin, Jay and all the family have been through in the last year has been heartbreaking, it equally opened our eyes to what Type 1 diabetes is. We simply had no idea. Weāre proud to support them and the diabetes community in the best way we can.ā
On the 22nd of August 2022, band member Jay’s son, Franklin, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just 3 years old. Type 1 Diabetes is a lifelong, incurable autoimmune disease that affects approximately 400,000 people in the UK. In a show of solidarity, The Overtones are collectively committed to actively promote Type 1 diabetes fundraisers and charities during their upcoming tour. Additionally, they have pledged to make substantial donations from the proceeds of their new single to the fundraising efforts of ‘My Diabetes Story’ in direct support of JDRF and Diabetes UK.
Beyond fundraising, The Overtones are backing former Royal Navy serviceman and X Factor star Jay James in launching ‘My Diabetes Story’, a new platform and community hub encouraging others to share their stories to provide peer support, hope, and inspiration to all individuals and families living with Type 1 diabetes. The platform also involves Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent star & finalist Tom Ball, who is also a type 1 diabetic and will join The Overtones as a special guest on their UK Good Times Tour. The platform itself is set to launch during Diabetes Awareness Month on the 14th November 2023, World Diabetes Day.
Ahead of the single and ‘My Diabetes Story’ launch, the band kick off their 27 date UK āGood Times Tourā which runs through 7th Nov to 13th Dec. Their tours have become a huge tradition for people kicking off their Christmas season and this festive, feel-good fun will be the perfect way to get into the spirit. Tickets are on sale now and available from www.theovertones.tv.
