The Guilty Remnant were dealt a huge blow in the latest episode of The Leftovers when Gladys (Marceline Hugot) was stoned to death in the woods behind a petrol station.
No one is entirely sure who committed the awful act but the repercussions of it were felt through the whole town. Laurie (Amy Brenneman) struggled with her grief as Guilty Remnant leader Patti (Ann Dowd) started to speak again and gave Laurie the day off from being silent; something she didn’t take advantage of.
Elsewhere Kevin (Justin Theroux) tried to track down Gladys’ body after it went missing and took his anger out on a local dry cleaners who tried to steal his white shirts. Matt (Christopher Eccleston) tried to bring life back to the Guilty Remnant but his attempts backfired and Meg (Liv Tyler) decided she was ready to take the next step with the group.
The next episode of the season is Guest. As Nora Durst (Carrie Coon) struggles with her grief, she attends a conference in New York where she discovers an imposter.
