Robert Gillespie & Clare Cameron interview

We speak to the writer/director and star of Portia, part of the Women in the Arts Festival at the Tristan Bates.

Portia - Women in Arts

We recently caught up with Robert Gillespie and Clare Cameron to talk about their latest project, Portia.

Portia, written and directed by Robert and starring Clare Cameron, is a one-woman show that will form part of the Women in the Arts Festival at the Tristan Bates Theatre. The piece looks at how much has really changed for women since Shakespeare’s time, when the heroine of the Merchant of Venice was given away in marriage as a prize in a lottery.

Portia will be performed on Wednesday 18th December at 8.30, and tickets can be booked through the Tristan Bates Theatre website.

Presented by the Actors Centre and So and So Arts, the Women in the Arts Festival is a three-day celebration of women’s contribution to the art scene taking place from 16th-18th December.
