Top fitness gurus Gymbox have launched a brand new first-of-its-kind exercise class combining the best elements of a military bootcamp with the ancient art of ninja training, all in celebration of the DVD & Blu-ray release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
The unique class, which is a fusion of military and ninja techniques, combines hardcore cardio and aerobic exercises with martial arts based moves helping to fire up any participant into the ultimate commando shape. The G.I. Joe fitness class was launched with an hour-long pilot session taking place at Gymbox in Covent Garden.
The blockbuster movie starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Channing Tatum and action legend Bruce Willis follows the exploits of the Joe’s as they join forces with the ninja assassins to take on a global terrorist.
Richard Hilton, Gymbox MD, adds “our members are always looking to try fun and innovative ways to keep fit so teaming up with Paramount Pictures for the release of the GI Joe: Retaliation DVD to launch this class is sure to be a success”;
British acting legend Ray Stevenson, who also stars, recalled his motivation for the movie ahead of the Gymbox class adding that: “the director told me, ‘bring what you want to the movie but we need somebody to go up against The Rock’, which got me thinking that I needed to get to work in the gym. I’ve got about half a centimetre height on him but his arms are the size of my legs!”
