Entries open for AIM Independent Music Awards

The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has announced that it will be accepting entries for this year’s awards from today, 16th May. The 3rd annual AIM Independent Music Awards will celebrate the independent sector and will nominated artists and labels.

Application forms can be downloaded

Deadline for entries on 13th June.

The nominees will be announced on the 6th June at an invite only event by Xfm’s John Kennedy.

Tickets are already on sale for the Award show which will take place on the 3rd September at The Brewery. Steve Lamacq and Hew Stephen will host the event once more.

Independent Track of the Year (in association with Spotify)for the year’s best independently released track

Independent Video of the YearFor the best music video from an act signed to an independent label

Best Live Act (voted for by readers of The Fly)For the best live act signed to an independent label

Independent Album of the YearFor the year’s best independently released album

Golden Welly Award for Best Independent Festival (in association with UK Music)Recognising the UK’s best independent festival

Independent Breakthrough of the Year (in association with 7digital)For an artist that made serious waves in 2012

Best ‘Difficult’ Second Album (in association with Xfm)The independent album that has built on the success and brilliance of a debut release

Special Catalogue Release of the YearFor a catalogue release that offers something special

Best Small Label (in association with Disc Manufacturing Services)They’re not big (yet) but they are clever!

Hardest Working Band or ArtistFor a band or artist that demonstrates an admirable work ethic
