HBO has cancelled Laura Dern and Mike White’s ratings-challenged show Enlightened after two seasons.
Despite a critically-acclaimed run, the show struggled to find an audience leading HBO to decide against commissioning a third season. The show followed the story of Amy Jellicoe (Laura Dern) an office worker who tries to uncover the corruption at her workplace following a breakdown.
Laura Dern picked up a Golden Globe for her performance in the first season and the show attracted big names stars including Diane Ladd, Luke Wilson and Dermot Mulroney.
In a statement HBO said ‘It was a very difficult decision. Weāre proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.’
