Itch is King Blues frontman’s solo project. This new venture has enabled the artist to explore his creativity and further his talent. Following a support tour of AWOLNATION, Itch performed a little tour, which has helped strengthen his fanbase. The new EP Manifesto Pt. 2: We’re All In The Gutter is being released through Red Bull Records and this is what we thought about it.
The EP starts with Diplomat, which is a rather catchy little tune. The track instantly becomes a favourite on this EP with its combo of rapped lyrics and its punk influence. We like the modern finishes Itch has added to the track, which give it its fresh sound.
The next track on Manifesto Pt. 2, Gutter Stars kicks off sounding like a cheap dance track but thankfully the verses are less cheesy and salvage the track slightly. We can’t say we like this N-Dubz-type track though.
Soul kicks off with a nice dose of feisty vocals and with that come a few quirky sound effects, which really get you going. We love the eccentric side of this track and its energy, unfortunately part of the chorus slightly ruins it with its cheesy pop rhythm, and something the song could have done without. Other than that Soul probably is our favourite.
Last on the EP is Like I’m Drugs a good pop song that ends things well.
Itch’s new EP is quite interesting and a bit of a departure from King Blues’ sound we like some of it but hate parts of it too. There’s though something quite catchy about Itch’s music.
