Listen: Rob Mayes debuts timely new track ‘4th of July’

Rob Mayes has debuted his new song ‘4th of July', which appropriately arrived on Friday (4th July 2025).

The song was written by Mayes with 2x Billboard Multi Award-winning producer, artist and songwriter Justine Blazer and hit Nashville songwriter Steve O’Brien (Brooks and Dunns' ‘Rock My World'). Take a listen to the song below:

The song is produced, engineered, and mixed by Justine Blazer at Ten7Teen Studios. Blazer shares:

“This is kind of a crazy story, actually… The stars aligned, magic happened, and the timing was perfect. This surprise collaboration came together literally last week in just a two-day window – from concept to completion. We all got in a room, not knowing what we were going to write or say. After talking about life and emotions, the ideas started flowing. We wrote the song, made a work tape, recorded it, produced it, and completed the mix and master – all within 48 hours. That’s not typical! But we knew we had something special, and we didn’t want to wait a whole year to release it – we wanted it out THIS 4th of July.”

“‘4th of July' is a mid-tempo country song about a fleeting but unforgettable moment with someone special. It's the story of a passionate love affair that takes place on Independence Day – where it's hard to tell if the fireworks in the sky or the spark between two people made the night so electric. With nostalgic references, heart-pounding emotion, and Rob’s incredible vocals, the song captures the kind of summer memory you never forget.”

The song is the latest release from Mayes, who has been very prolific with his music the past few years. ‘4th of July' sees him giving his most passionate vocal to date. The Country track is tinged with a bit of 80s rock, and it's an emotive song driven by Mayes' gravelly tone. It's something a little different for Mayes, and continues to showcase his chameleonic abilities as an artist.
