Big Loud Records artist MacKenzie Porter has given her fan-favourite track ‘Coming Home To You' a fresh new twist, transforming it into a duet with fellow 2024 CCMA award-winner Owen Riegling. The new version, ‘Coming Home To You (Bigger Houses),' is out now.
Originally featured on Porter’s full-length April release ‘Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart,' the song holds special meaning for the rising country star, reflecting her current stage of life as a wife, daughter, friend, and first-time mom. Porter's signature blend of strength and vulnerability merges seamlessly with Riegling’s warm, heartfelt vocals, creating an emotional and tender take on the track.
“This song really speaks to the moment I’m living in right now, so bringing it to life in a new way was really special,” Porter shared. “From the first time I heard the demo, I felt it could be a duet if we found the right person, and Owen’s voice was a perfect fit. He’s such a talent, and with him just getting married, it felt like the right time and place.”
Riegling echoed those sentiments, adding, “As someone who just got married to my best friend Liv, I connected with this song right away. It doesn’t matter how big the house is, or how white the fence is—if I didn’t have her, it wouldn’t feel like home. I’m grateful to MacKenzie for asking me to be part of this song.”
Written by Tofer Brown, Lauren Hungate, Caroline Watkins, and Emily Weisband, and produced by 2024 CCMA Producer of the Year Joey Moi, ‘Coming Home To You (Bigger Houses)' showcases both artists at their finest, breathing new life into an already beloved track.
As Porter finishes off a standout year, including her win as 2024 CCMA Female Artist of the Year, she’s preparing to head to Australia in November to perform at the Ridin' Hearts Festival in Sydney (11/2) and Melbourne (11/3). Afterward, she'll return to Nashville for her first-ever holiday season with her husband Jake Etheridge and their seven-month-old daughter, Bowie.
