Jake Owen has revealed details of his upcoming studio album ‘Dreams to Dream,' set for release on November 7 via Good Company Entertainment. The project was co-produced by Owen and Shooter Jennings, recorded at Snake Mountain (Sunset Sound Studio 3) in Los Angeles, and completed with mixing by Trina Shoemake and mastering by Pete Lyman at Infrasonic Sound in Nashville. Pre-orders right here.
The record includes notable collaborations, with Jamey Johnson featuring on ‘The Jukebox Knows' and Savannah Conley on ‘Them Old Love Songs.' Writing credits come from longtime friends and acclaimed songwriters Ben Chapman and Kendell Marvel, while additional production and recording support came from Marvel and Dan Ballard, respectively.
Alongside the announcement, Owen has shared the track ‘Long Time Lovin’ You,' a soft, reflective song he says recalls the country tunes he once played as a boy in Vero Beach, Florida. For Owen, the new material marks a step into more mature storytelling, weaving through themes of heartbreak, defiance, and personal growth. “Sometimes you need to get outside what's comfortable, what people think you are, or think you should be, and take a risk,” he explained.
Now in his forties, Owen is embracing a more honest approach to songwriting. “It really feels cathartic to be honest about a lot of stuff in my life — how I feel, where I see myself going, and how I see myself going there,” he shared. “Where I feel most comfortable is grabbing my guitar and singing a song that fits my voice really smoothly. I feel like it's more honest.”
Before the album arrives, Owen will join Darius Rucker for a run of five UK shows beginning September 29 in Belfast, before teaming up with Dirty Heads for four Florida dates in late October. He will then wrap up the year with his annual Flamingo Weekend in Vero Beach, benefitting The Jake Owen Foundation. Full tour details and updates can be found at jakeowen.net.
