Country music mainstays, Eli Young Band, have made their long-awaited return with new music for the first time in three years, releasing their latest single, ‘Home In Hometown.' The Texas-born band, who first formed while attending the University of North Texas over two decades ago, has spent much of their career on the road. Now, they return to their roots, exploring themes of home, family, and the journey back in this heartfelt ballad.
A reflection of life on the road and the longing to be with loved ones, ‘Home In Hometown' captures Eli Young Band’s signature mix of storytelling and emotion. With soaring guitars, a driving rhythm, and an anthemic chorus, the song dives into the meaning of “home” and how it evolves for a traveling band.
“When you find the love of your life, you’ll follow them anywhere,” shares frontman Mike Eli, who co-wrote the song with Ryan Tyndell and Jeff Hyde. “I wanted to write something that felt like a song Pat Green or Jack Ingram would cut. Being on the road, you think about coming home to your family, but it’s almost like if they meet you on the road, anywhere can be home. I wanted to capture that feeling.”
Produced by Jimmy Robbins and Eric Arjes, ‘Home In Hometown' is the first release from a collection of more than 140 songs the band has penned over the past few years. It marks the beginning of a new chapter for Eli Young Band as they approach their 25th anniversary and prepare for a tour that brings them back to their Texas roots.
“It feels full circle,” says bassist Jon Jones. “We started this band when we were 20, and now we get to step back into our Texas shoes. This new music takes us back to where we started, and we’re remembering what made the magic happen in the first place.”
Mike Eli adds, “Going back to Panhandle House, where we recorded our ‘Level' album, feels like we’re reminding ourselves why we started making music. When this music comes out, fans will know it’s 100% us.”
Eli Young Band’s celebrated career includes four No. 1 hits, with standout tracks like ‘Crazy Girl,' ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart,' ‘Love Ain’t' and ‘Drunk Last Night.' The band has received critical acclaim from outlets like the Associated Press and earned multiple nominations from the GRAMMYs, CMA, CMT, and more.
