As we continue our Christmas Movies A to Z we’d best warn you to keep the tissues hand for F – The Family Stone.
Featuring a star-studded cast that includes Diane Keaton, Craig T. Nelson, Dermot Mulroney, Sarah Jessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Claire Danes and Rachel McAdams, The Family Stone is a film that really didn’t get the recognition it deserved when it was released in 2005.
Meredith Morton (Sarah Jessica Parker), an uptight business executive, travels to Connecticut with her boyfriend Everett Stone (Dermot Mulroney) to spend Christmas with his family. Upon arrival it becomes clear that Meredith is a fish out of water and she asks her sister Julie (Claire Danes) to stay at a nearby inn with her and provide support.
As the holidays progress, Meredith continues to clash with the family but a tragic turn of events sets into motion an unexpected change that affects Meredith of the Stone family.

Alternative…
If you’d prefer something that won’t have you weeping into your mulled wine, you could watch Four Christmases which boasts an equally star-studded cast led by Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon. The actors play a couple who spend the holidays visiting their parents, all four of which are divorced.
