A new feature film from Thailand about same-sex parenting titled Fathers has been released on FilmDoo today.
Arriving in time for Father’s Day this weekend, Fathers is available to stream globally on FilmDoo. The film stars Thai-American actor Asda Panichkul and Thai pop star turned actor Nat Sakdatorn.
Gay couple Phoon (Panichkul) and Yuke (Sakdatorn) want nothing more than to start their own family. Their dream finally becomes a reality when they
adopt an abandoned baby boy named Butr, completing their household.
However, when their previously blissfully unaware boy grows up and gets bullied for not having a ānormalā parental situation, and when the Childrenās Rights Protection Organization starts putting pressure on the two fathers, their family unit must fight harder than ever to stick together.
Fathers is directed by Platpol Mingpornpichit and the film deals with the complexities of fatherhood in modern day Thailand, where same sex couples do not have the same rights as heterosexual couples.
