Ingrid Andress has released new single ‘Catch 22' as she continues to tease the next chapter of her new music.
A stripped-back acoustic track, ‘Catch 22' finds Andress playing on the the catch 22 concept to describe a failing relationship with someone who can’t seem to grow up, still chasing the forever young feeling of being twenty-two. Watch the visualizer below:
Andress says, “’Catch 22’ is a song about trying to grow in a relationship that you’ve already outgrown. Love is not for the faint of heart, especially when it’s up to you to leave it behind. The song takes place in a relationship because it’s commonly the place we see it happen the most. At one point or another, we've all found ourselves in relationships where we love and care for someone that no longer fits. We stay and hope they will change because who doesn't want someone to love and be loved by? And it’s never really ‘that bad.’ Until one day you wake up and want a beautiful life that’s much more than not ‘that bad’ and the only person who can change that is you.”
‘Catch 22' follows the recent ‘Footprints', which are Andress' first new music releases since the 2022 album ‘Good Person'. Across ‘Good Person' and her debut album ‘Lady Like', Andress has exceeded 1.5 billion streams. Andress is also an in-demand songwriter with credits including Charli XCX's ‘Boys' and Bebe Rexha's ‘Girl in the Mirror'.
Andress is stepping back into a spotlight following a whirlwind year including a National Anthem performance that led to an experience in rehab and profoundly altered her perspective on her career. She decided to take the comeback head-on, singing ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ once again at a recent Colorado Avalanche game in her home state, earning praise and respect for overcoming her demons.
