A Thousand Horses release new deluxe of ‘The Outside’ bonus material

Nashville rock band A Thousand Horses has released the deluxe version of their album ‘The Outside,' now available with new live and acoustic tracks, as well as the previously unreleased single ‘‘Til My Heart Don’t Beat.'

Originally released in 2023, ‘The Outside' marked a pivotal moment for the band as they emerged from a period of personal transformation. The expanded edition breathes new life into the album with fresh material that extends its emotional depth and sonic reach.

“We are thrilled to release the deluxe version of ‘The Outside' and share a new song, ‘Til My Heart Don’t Beat,' said lead singer Michael Hobby. “This song serves as a bridge to the next chapter and what’s to come. It’s been a long time since we last returned to the UK, and I couldn’t be more excited to be back this summer. I can’t wait to see everyone!”

The album kicks off with ‘Highway Sound,' a life-affirming track inspired by an impromptu porch session during a weekend trip to Texas. Hobby describes the song as a celebration of moving forward and letting go of negativity.

Across 12 tracks, ‘The Outside' captures a wide emotional spectrum—from the liberating title track to the meditative ‘No News' and the heartbreak-laced ‘Strangers,' co-written with Chris Stapleton. The band experiments with sound and structure throughout, working closely with Grammy-winning producer Jon Randall to push boundaries and avoid the expected.

Guitarist Bill Satcher noted the creative process: “Our thinking behind everything was, ‘If it seems obvious, let’s do the exact opposite.’” That spirit led to the wild instrumental ‘Southeastern Stomp' and the slow-burning ‘Roll On,' which builds to an explosive bridge. Another standout, ‘Over The Counter,' was born from a spontaneous writing session and showcases the band's gritty outlaw-country edge.

First gaining recognition with their 2015 debut ‘Southernality'—which featured the platinum-certified single ‘Smoke'—A Thousand Horses have built a reputation for their high-energy live shows and genre-blending style. They’ve racked up over 320 million streams, earned two ACM Award nominations, and shared stages with legends like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Darius Rucker, Jason Aldean, and Gregg Allman.

After wrapping a 52-show tour last year, the band is set to return to the UK this summer with three shows in Glasgow, Manchester, and London. Tickets are on sale now.
