Originally featured as a solo track on Paulette’s 2024 album ‘Horseback,' the reimagined version pairs two of country music’s most authentic voices for a classic, heartache-soaked ballad steeped in Western soul.
Written by Joe Fox and Tony Lane, ‘Chasin’ Whiskey' tells the story of two broken hearts nursing their wounds after love rides off into the sunset. With Worthington’s deep, traditional baritone blending perfectly with Paulette’s smooth, lonesome twang, the track unfolds over a backdrop of mournful fiddle and pedal steel. The pair deliver the song’s bittersweet refrain — “I chased a cowboy, now I’m chasin’ whiskey” — with the kind of chemistry that feels timeless.
Paulette shared that choosing Worthington as her duet partner was an easy decision, noting their long friendship and shared roots. “Jake and I have been friends for a while,” she said. “He has one of the most iconic voices of our generation, and I’m just so thankful he hopped on this song with me.
