Tyra Madison unleashes fiery new single ‘Cowboy Killer’

Rising country powerhouse Tyra Madison is turning up the heat with her new single ‘Cowboy Killer,' out now on all streaming platforms. Co-written with Leland Grant and Stephony Smith, the track flips the phrase often used to describe Marlboros into a clever metaphor — this time, the ‘Cowboy Killer' is a fearless woman who breaks hearts and disappears before sunrise. With driving production, an infectious hook, and Madison’s powerhouse vocals front and center, the track cements her place as one of Nashville’s most exciting young voices. Holler. gave fans an exclusive first listen, calling it “a blazing country pop anthem.”

“‘Cowboy Killer’ is a baddie anthem for the girls who’ve had enough,” Madison said of the song. “Instead of the cowboy breaking hearts, she’s the one riding into town, causing chaos, and disappearing before sunrise. Honestly, it’s just for the girls who know they’re the main character.”

The new release follows her much more sentimental single ‘Papaw,' a heartfelt track co-written with Brit Taylor and Karleen Watt that reflects on simple memories of family, music, and growing up in Kentucky. With ‘Cowboy Killer,' Madison flips the tone — trading nostalgia for fire and swagger while showing off her knack for storytelling and genre-blending.

Originally from Pine Top, Kentucky, Madison’s love of music began early, performing bluegrass tunes with her family before embracing country music as a teenager. After studying commercial voice at Belmont University in Nashville, she carved her own path through Music City, earning more than 12 million streams across platforms and touring alongside artists including Nelly, Clint Black, Ernest, Lonestar, Maddie & Tae, and Priscilla Block. With her blend of small-town roots, powerhouse vocals and modern country polish, Tyra Madison is an artist to watch.
