Cory Marks is back with a vengeance. The Canadian-born country rocker delivers an unapologetic punch with his fourth studio album, ‘Sorry for Nothing Volume 2,' out now via Better Noise Music. The 10-track record is a bold, electrifying fusion of arena-ready rock and down-home country grit — the kind of sound that’s become Marks’ signature since his breakout hit ‘Outlaws & Outsiders' first roared onto the charts.
The album arrives at a career high point for Marks, as ‘Outlaws & Outsiders' — featuring Ivan Moody, Mick Mars, and Travis Tritt — has just been certified Gold by the RIAA, marking his first U.S. certification. The track not only earned him international recognition but also made history as the first-ever Top 10 U.S. rock radio single from a Canadian country act, amassing over 212 million streams worldwide.
Leading ‘Sorry for Nothing Volume 2' is the rowdy new single ‘Whiskey River,' a barroom-ready anthem that perfectly captures Marks’ mix of grit and heart. Driven by twangy guitars, stomping drums, and a chorus built for late-night singalongs, it’s a celebration of freedom and letting loose after a long week. “The song follows a character who’s just a good-timing simple man,” Marks explains. “When life gets rough or love gets complicated, he runs to his favourite small-town watering hole where the whiskey flows like a river and the worries wash away.”
Produced by Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Shania Twain), Kile Odell (Nothing More, Nita Strauss), and Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll, Brantley Gilbert), the record doubles down on Marks’ distinctive blend of rock swagger and country storytelling. It’s a high-octane, unfiltered project that reflects the unifying spirit of both genres — a reminder that country and rock have always shared the same roots of rebellion, resilience, and real life.
Fresh off a year of relentless touring, Marks shows no signs of slowing down. He’ll join Sevendust on their Southside Double-Wide Tour kicking off November 14 in Columbia, Missouri, following a busy run of headline shows across Canada, the U.K. and Europe earlier this year. His touring résumé already includes support slots for legends like Toby Keith, Travis Tritt and ZZ Top, as well as hard rock powerhouses like Five Finger Death Punch and Nickelback.
With over 386 million global streams and growing, Cory Marks continues to carve his own lane — loud, unapologetic, and full of heart. ‘Sorry for Nothing Volume 2' proves once again that he’s not just blurring the lines between rock and country — he’s redefining them.
