Cory Marks drops explosive new album ‘Sorry for Nothing’

Country-rock dynamo Cory Marks has officially released his highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Sorry for Nothing' via Better Noise Music. Out now, the album arrives alongside a gritty new music video for its unapologetic title track. Available in exclusive red vinyl, CD, and digital formats ‘Sorry for Nothing' can be purchased here.

A Tribute to Dreamers

For Marks, the title track is deeply personal.

“‘Sorry For Nothing’ is one of my favourite songs on the album and hits home for me in a nostalgic way,” Marks shares. “It’s for any small-town kid with a dream. Believe me, there will be roadblocks, but keep working towards it and be sorry for nothing!”

Fans can watch the music video, which captures the song's defiant energy, streaming now on YouTube.

A Bold Follow-Up to Who I Am

Building on the success of his debut album ‘Who I Am'—featuring the hit single ‘Outlaws & Outsiders' which became the first Canadian country song to break the Top 10 on U.S. rock radio—Sorry for Nothing delivers 13 powerful tracks that blend arena rock and rootsy country. The album includes collaborations with heavyweights like:

  • Sully Erna of Godsmack
  • Travis Tritt
  • Mick Mars of Mötley Crüe on the rocking track ‘(Make My) Country Rock' (currently climbing the Active Rock charts at #20)
  • DL of Bad Wolves on ‘Guilty'

A Genre-Bending Masterpiece

Produced by Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, Shania Twain), Kile Odell (Nita Strauss, David Draiman), and Andrew Baylis (Jelly Roll, Brantley Gilbert), the album merges a variety of styles, from Haggard-inspired country and virtual bluegrass to Pantera-esque metal and stadium-sized anthems.

“The record is really who I am,” Marks says. “I love rock and I love country. I pave my own lane, trying to bring people together—whether you're a rock fan, a metal fan, or a country music fan.”

Marks promises something for everyone, describing ‘Sorry for Nothing' as:

“A kick in the ass—the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s about the ups and downs of life, adding fuel to keep you fighting and keep your eye on the prize. There are songs for partying, for looking back and having a good cry, love songs—something for everyone.”

A Big Year for Cory Marks

The release of ‘Sorry for Nothing' caps off a whirlwind year for Marks, who recently wrapped a successful acoustic U.S. tour supporting multi-Platinum rockers Theory of a Deadman. With this new album, Marks continues to cement his reputation as a trailblazer in the country-rock scene.
