The teaser trailer has been released by Black Bear for Osgood Perkins' upcoming horror ‘The Monkey'.
The film, which follows the huge success of Perkins' ‘Longlegs', stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany and Elijah Wood. See the chilling teaser below:
The film is based on the short story by Stephen King, and at the time of publishing this article an official synopsis hasn't been released. Last year, Deadline said the following about the film:
In ‘The Monkey', when twin brothers Hal and Bill discover their father’s old monkey toy in the attic, a series of gruesome deaths starts occurring all around them. The brothers decide to throw the monkey away and move on with their lives, growing apart over the years. But when the mysterious deaths begin again, the brothers must reunite to find a way to destroy the monkey for good before it takes the lives of everyone close to them.
Perkins' is currently on a career upswing thanks to the success of ‘Longlegs', which stars Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage and Alicia Witt. The film hit cinemas in July of this year and has taken audiences and critics by storm, becoming the UK’s highest-grossing independent horror of the last decade.
‘The Monkey' will be released in cinemas on 21st February 2025.
