‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ in concert UK dates confirmed

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will have its debut UK in concert tour this year it has been announced.

Following on from sold-out shows throughout the world for ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’, this second chapter is sure to be a draw for fans. The world premiere ofĀ ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’Ā Live In ConcertĀ will take place on 30th June at Royal Festival Hall and will see the film presented on a huge HD screen, accompanied by a range of musicians and instrumentalists performing music from the filmā€™s score and soundtrack live to picture. This will include a full orchestra, a scratch DJ on turntables, percussion and electronic instruments. Ā

The show will then tour across the UK, beginning in Manchester on 3 September before travelling onto Glasgow, Birmingham, Bath and Sheffield. Tickets for the tour are on general sale on Friday 26th April.

The score for the film was created by Daniel Pemberton, known for his work on movies such asĀ ‘Ferrari’,Ā ‘The Man From U.N.C.L.E.’,Ā ‘Oceans 8’,Ā ‘Enola Holmes’,Ā ‘The Bad Guys’Ā andĀ ‘Steve Jobs’.Ā The album forĀ ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’Ā has now been streamed 200 million times worldwide, racking up over 11 million UK streams and 75 million in the US.

ā€‹ā€‹ā€‹On bringing the sequel,Ā ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’Ā to life for a UK tour, Pemberton says:

ā€œ’Across The Spider-Verse’ is probably the most exciting, ground breaking and impactful score Iā€™ve written. Iā€™ve always believed that there should be no barriers to music, but itā€™s rare to get the opportunity that you get within the Spider-Verse – where else could you have powerful orchestral themes side by side with punk drum solos, virtuoso record scratchingĀ next to twisted electronics, off-kilter whistling next to hip-hop beats?ā€‹

Watching the film with the live band performing in a huge room of people is one of the most thrilling ways to experience it and itā€™s a huge honour to know that audiences are going to get a show that delivers a unique emotional hit they will hopefully remember for a long, long time after.ā€

After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklynā€™s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters the Spider Society, a team of Spider-People charged with protecting the Multiverseā€™s very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must set out on his own to save those he loves most. Anyone can wear the mask ā€“ itā€™s how you wear it that makes you a hero.
