The storyline has been building since ‘Neighbours’ returned to our screens in September but it was still pretty shocking when one major character crossed the line in today’s episode.

Earlier this week we were speculating over whether Toadie (Ryan Moloney) or Terese (Rebekha Elmaloglou) would cheat first and now we know – it was Toadie! Today’s episode saw Toadie run to Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) when he discovered that Terese had ditched their planned date to spend time with Paul (Stefan Dennis). What Toadie didn’t realise, is that Paul had found Josh’s plaque which had ended up in a rubbish tip thanks to scheming Chelsea (Viva Blanca).
Of course, it was Chelsea who stirred the pot by telling Toadie where Terese was. Instead of confronting her about it, Toadie ran to Melanie and in the heat of the moment (with some gentle goading from Melanie) he kissed his former wife. That’s not all, the two were seen ripping each other’s clothes off and the previews from the next episode pretty much confirm that they sleep together.
Will Toadie tell Terese?
Everything will come out eventually but will Toadie do the decent thing and tell Terese that he’s cheated on her? The previews show that Terese knows there’s something off about his behaviour but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to come clean. With Melanie getting what she wanted, maybe it’ll be her that tells Terese the news in a bid to break up the marriage?
Can Terese and Toadie move past this?
We’d say that the chances aren’t great. Both Terese and Toadie have been paranoid that their exes will come between them and now Melanie’s done exactly that, Terese is going to have to decide if her marriage is worth fighting for. It’s clear that Toadie never dealt with his feelings for Melanie after her abrupt departure and having her back on the street has caused him plenty of anguish. Maybe Toadie won’t want to save his marriage? Could he actually choose to go back to Melanie?
Is a reunion on the cards for Terese and Paul on ‘Neighbours’?
Once Terese does find out what Toadie’s done, it wouldn’t be a surprise if she runs to Paul for comfort. The former couple have been getting much closer since the death of David (Takaya Honda) with only Terese giving Paul any support. Chelsea is clearly threatened by Terese’s bond with Paul and she’s doing everything she can to keep them apart. Whatever happens, it’s clear Terese cares deeply about Paul (no, we don’t know why either) so if she ends up back in his arms at least it’ll signal (hopefully) the end of Chelsea.
