‘Neighbours’: 5 big questions we need answering in March

‘Neighbours’ is really into its groove on Amazon Freevee and we can’t believe that there’s already been almost 100 episodes of the show since it returned to our screens last September.

If you want to avoid spoilers, stop reading this article now.

The show has been packed with drama ranging from the shock revelation that Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis) isn’t actually dead through to the death of David Tanaka (Takaya Honda). Alongside all of that, we’ve been loving the new Varga-Murphy family and we’re on tenterhooks as to whether Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) and Toadie (Ryan Moloney) are going to be able to sort out their extensive marriage issues.

With so much going on, we’ve put together 5 questions that we want ‘Neighbours’ to answer during March. Keep reading to find out our thoughts…

1. Is Toadie going to cheat on Terese?

The show has set up a love quadrangle with Toadie, Terese, Paul (Stefan Dennis) and Melanie (Lucinda Cowden) and it looks like there’s going to be some scandal. Toadie hasn’t been happy that Terese is growing closer to Paul since the death of David, and instead of talking it out with her, he’s been running to Melanie. Viewers will remember that Melanie made a very public play for Toadie recently and she told him she still loved him. The two former spouses very nearly kissed this week and it seems like they might actually cross the line. What about Terese and Paul? To us, it looks like they’re just supporting one another and while Paul has an ulterior motive, we don’t think Terese does.

2. When will we see the back of Chelsea?

Chelsea (Viva Bianca) has become the show’s main villain since making her debut as Cara’s (Sara West) and she wasted no time honing in on Paul. The last few weeks has seen the despicable character sinking her hooks into Paul as he grieves over his part in the death of his son David. After manipulating her way into a job at Lassiters, and butting heads with both Terese and Krista – not to mention getting rid of the memorial plaque for Terese’s son – Chelsea seems untouchable. It’s credit to actress Viva Blanca that the character is pushing all the right buttons for viewers but surely the storyline can’t go on for much longer?

3. Will Jane and Mike break up?

Jane (Annie Jones) and Mike’s (Guy Pearce) relationship is doomed isn’t it? Honestly, we can’t see Guy Pearce making a full time return to the show but he has been popping up in video calls to Jane while he works in the UK. It was recently revealed that Mike’s overseas stay is likely to be extended so surely Jane has to realise her man is never coming back to be with her? We’d love to see them get a happy ending but it’s not looking likely.

4. Can Byron and Sadie really give it a proper go as a couple?

Sadie (Emerald Chan) plotted her way to losing her virginity to Byron (Xavier Molyneux) and then tried to brush him off by claiming they should stay friends. The passionate night has got both characters pondering if they have a future but Holly (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) put her foot in it by telling Byron that Sadie picked him as her first due to his escort experience. A furious Byron confronted Sadie, just as she was starting to think maybe they could have a future together. Is there a real romance on the cards for the two?

5. Is Susan ever coming back to ‘Neighbours’?

Calling Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne)! Come back please. The iconic character has been on extended leave since going to Sydney to look after Elly’s (Jodi Gordon) daughter while she went away on her honeymoon. In her absence Karl (Alan Fletcher) has had to deal with David’s death and try to prevent Melanie from wrecking Toadie’s marriage. We really need her back on screen asap so her calming influence can guide the rest of the characters.

‘Neighbours’ airs Monday to Thursday on Amazon Freevee.
