Mariah Carey may be in the middle of her ‘Merry Christmas One and All!‘ tour in the US but the icon still found time to record a live performance for the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.
Opening the awards with a live rendition of her iconic hit ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, Carey was surrounded by dancers on a festive set that featured her children, roller skaters and her backing singers. Lowered down on a ski lift and dressed all in white, Carey sounded fantastic as she sung the song that is fast rising up the charts again.
Originally featured on her 1994 album ‘Merry Christmas’, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has become a key part of the holiday celebrations. The song hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US for the first time in 2019 and has returned to the summit every Christmas since. It also finally hit number one in 2020 in the UK too.
Carey recently revealed that she’s been working on a new studio album, which will be her first since 2018’s ‘Caution’. Fans also have reason to celebrate with the 30th anniversary edition of her ‘Music Box‘ album arriving in February 2024.
