Watch: OMD release music video for new single ‘Anthropocene’

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) has debuted the music video for new single ‘Anthropocene’.

Taken from their recently released album ‘Bauhaus Staircase’, the futuristic animated video was created by Cine1080 Studio. You can watch it at the top of this article.

A term for the current era in Earth’s evolution, when mankind is directly affecting it, ‘Anthropocene’ is the spiritual heir of Dazzle Ships’ mordant electro bangers. It’s a six-minute masterclass in tension as a voiceover starkly intones how mankind is “crushing all diversity” of other species.

Following the release of ‘Bauhaus Staircase’, OMD will appear on ‘BBC’s Later… with Jools Holland’, which will be broadcast in November.

Across February & March 2024, the band will play 22 dates across the UK & Ireland (tickets here), including their biggest ever London headline show at London’s O2 Arena on March 24th, 2024 – with support coming from the legendary Howard Jones (London only) & Walt Disco (all other dates).
