4. ‘Isla Bella’ (‘Beautiful Island’)
Another favourite Ricky album of mine is 2015’s ‘A Quien Quiera Escuchar’. The album is all killer and no filler but I’m surprised that the wonderful ‘Isla Bella’ was overlooked as a single. It’s low-key for much of the verses, with Latin rhythms looping while Ricky sings in a hushed tone, but the beat opens up making it the perfect summer groove. Imagine playing this loud after a few drinks in a sun-soaked location… perfection.
