The survivors had spent some of their time training and seemed to be using Roman military tactics. They worried that the Whisperers might return and evidence started to appear to support their fears. Security was stepped up and scout patrols put in place, all while trying to adhere to Alpha’s imposed borders.
Carol (Melissa McBride) returned from a fishing trip and spent some time with Daryl (Norman Reedus). She wanted to run off together to get away from everything and while he was tempted he felt they should stay.
An old USSR satellite crashed to earth and started a fire in the woods. The survivors decided to cross the border to deal with it to prevent the fire from spreading. They had to work hard through the night but were successful. As well as the fire they had to deal with plenty of walkers that were attracted to the flames and they worried that Whisperers could be among them.
At the end of the episode, Carol went off with Daryl again to where Alpha (Samantha Morton) showed her secret weapon of the giant walker herd. The herd wasn’t there but down below something caught Carol’s eye – it was Alpha. She spotted Carol and realised that she had crossed the border. It looks like the Whisperers are back for war.
