E3 2019: Tropico 6 has landed on Xbox Game Preview

Tropico 6 has been out since 29th March and has been met by positive reviews from critics and fans alike. We here at EF thought it was great and you can check out our Tropico 6 review to read our full thoughts on the latest instalment.

Kalypso Media have now announced that Tropico 6 will be coming to Xbox One and PS4 in late 2019 but if you have an Xbox One there is a chance to play right now. That’s because the game is available now as part of the Xbox One Game Preview Program and if you snap it up straight away you will bag yourself a discount as it’s part of the Xbox ‘Deals Unlocked’ E3 promotion.

The Game Preview version will feature the full single player experience. Future updates will include multiplayer, random map generator and other in-game enhancements. The console version aims to bring the high-end strategy experience to consoles along with a fully optimised control scheme.

Having been a long term fan of the Tropico games I can say from first-hand experience that the console ports have been pretty good in the past. The controls can feel a little clunky as they are trying to compete with a mouse and keyboard but they have generally been robust and functional. It’s also nice to see the game is enhanced for Xbox One X as the visuals on the PC are truly stunning at high settings.

If you want to grab yourself a copy of Tropico 6 for Xbox One head over the Microsoft Store.
