This month sees Kylie Minogue take to the stage in the Glastonbury Legends slot and also the release of her latest hits package Step Back In Time: The Definitive Collection. To celebrate we will be picking our A to Z of Kylie singles each day this month as well as asking you to vote for your favourite Kylie album – here.
Today is brought to you by the letter A.
A is for All The Lovers. The lead single from 2010’s Aphrodite album is a joyous, uplifting, breathy banger that celebrates love of all kinds. The video sees Kylie as the Goddess of Love on top of a mountain of writhing bodies that gets higher, higher, higher as the song builds to a euphoric crescendo.
Single facts
- The track was written by Kish Mauve who also wrote her single 2 Hearts
- It’s Kylie’s second biggest single released this Millennium behind Can’t Get You Out Of My Head (Official Charts)
- The video features a QR code on a coffee cup at the beginning which stands for ‘Love’
- Kylie has recorded a Spanish version of the track called Los Amores
There were several other choices for A including the hoe-down of A Lifetime to Repair, the festive At Christmas, film soundtrack Absolutely Anything and Anything at All and the slinky R&B leanings of All I See. Arguably none of these received the full single release treatment but could all be considered singles.
