Blood Bowl is set in the Warhammer universe and is loosely based on the rules of American Football. I say loosely as you’re not actively encouraged to mame and kill your opponents in American Football, but in Blood Bowl, hey anything goes.
Cyanide, the makers of Blood Bowl 1 and 2 have confirmed that Blood Bowl 3 is in the works and should be released sometime in 2020.
Based on the tabletop game of the same name, Blood Bowl pits your team of misfits against the other races of the Warhammer world. You can choose from humans, elves, dwarfs, orcs and more as you lead your team to victory. Players can be bought and sold on the market and they can be improved as you progress.
Blood Bowl 2 was a brilliant game but there were a few issues with it that I hope get ironed out in the next outing. My biggest frustration was the reliance on dice rolls for even the simplest of actions. Want to move a square to the left? no problem let’s just roll a dice to see if your player can manage such a feat. I never felt fully in control in Blood Bowl 2 so Cyanide, if you’re reading this, please get rid of this feature!
The release of Blood Bowl 3 will coincide with a rules overhaul for the tabletop version so whatever your preferred flavour of Blood Bowl you should be fully covered.
