In November Maren Morris teased us that new music was imminent when she performed a sold-out headline show at London’s Omeara.
Keeping true to her promise, Morris has released new single Girl which is the first to be lifted from her upcoming second album. The track was co-written by Morris with Greg Kurstin (Adele, Kelly Clarkson) and Sarah Aarons (Zedd’s The Middle).
Speaking to Billboard about the song, Morris said: “Me choosing Girl as the first single, itās about transitioning from someone who felt like she didn’t need anybody into someone who very much needs people and is okay with admitting that. That really frightening vulnerability that I’ve been trying to avoid, Iām not doing that any longer.”
Along with the new single, Morris has confirmed a World Tour titled Girl: The World Tour. She will play 7 shows in Ireland and the UK finishing with a show at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
