Global Game Jam 2019 site registrations close on January 4th

Have you ever fancied getting involved in making a game? Maybe you should check out the Global Game Jam 2019 which is being held later this month. A final call has been issued to register a site and participate in the the 11th annual Global Game Jam, which will take place in over 850 locations in more than 100 countries around the world from January 25-27th.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam that provides a common theme where amateur and professional game designers can join in, creating video games in physical locations around the world. It brings together creative minds around the world to share experiences and express thoughts, ideas and sentiments through the medium of video games.

Kicking off the event this year are keynotes from video game industry visionaries Rami Ismail (Vlambeer), Brie Code (TRU LUV) and Limpho Moeti (Free Lives).

The weekend stirs an international, creative buzz in the industry, exploring the process of game development in every aspect, including programming, iterative design, narrative exploration and artistic expression. Condensed into a 48-hour development cycle, the GGJ encourages people of all backgrounds to participate and contribute to the spread of game development and creativity in an open, non-competitive atmosphere.
