Passenger releases Hell or High Water as lead single from new album Runaway

Passenger’s new single Hell or High Water has an impact date of 13th July but it’s already been added to BBC Radio 2’s Playlist.

The lead single from new album Runaway, released on 31st August 2018, Hell or High Water has already amassed more than 10 million streams.

ā€œThe song is a personal inquisition,ā€ says Rosenberg of Hell Or High Water. ā€œI came out of a relationship a few years ago, and I was just baffled by it. Was it something Iā€™d done? Something sheā€™d done? The video was shot in various national parks – Monument Valley, Valley Of Fire, Death Valley and Joshua Tree. These epic and vast landscapes really help to portray a feeling of being lost in a hopeless quest for answers.ā€

Passenger, aka Mike Rosenberg, will support Runaway with an extensive world tour. Over the weekend he headlined the inaugural Black Deer Festival on Sunday night.

The UK leg of the tour kicks off in August and takes in dates all over the country with sold-out shows at London, Brighton, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Edinburgh. Passenger will then head to the US for a lengthy tour there.

Runaway is Passenger’s 10th album in 11 years and it was recorded between the UK and Australia with his co-producer, Chris Vallejo. Talking about the American influence the record has, ā€œMy dad is American,ā€ Rosenberg explains, ā€œand we used to go over every other summer when we were kids. I always loved it. I guess I was seduced by it a little bit. It was such a culture shock coming from England.ā€

The album is released on CD, Vinyl LP and download with Deluxe 2CD, 2LP and Deluxe Digital formats available that include Live Acoustic versions of the album recorded across North America.
