First Man trailer: Ryan Gosling rockets into space

You can now get your first proper look at Neil Armstrong biopic First Man as the first trailer for the movie has been released.

Ryan Gosling (La La Land) takes on the lead role under the direction of Damien Chazelle (La La Land) in the riveting story of NASA’s mission to land a man on the moon. The trailer teases tense drama and incredible visual effects, and it comes just hours after the one-sheet poster was revealed.

First Man focuses on Neil Armstrong in the years 1961 to 1969. The film is based on James R. Hansen’s book and explores one of the most dangerous missions in history.

Claire Foy (The Crown) plays Armstrong’s first wife Janet Shearon with Corey Stoll (Ant-Man) as astronaut Buzz Aldrin. The cast also includes Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Patrick Fugit (Outcast), Ciaran Hinds (Justice League), Ethan Embry (Sneaky Pete), Shea Whigham (True Detective) and Pablo Schreiber (American Gods).

First Man is written by Oscar-winner Josh Singer (Spotlight) and produced by Wyck Godfrey & Marty Bowen (The Twilight Saga, The Fault in Our Stars) through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner, alongside Chazelle and Gosling. Isaac Klausner (The Fault in Our Stars) executive produces.

First Man will arrive in UK cinemas on 12th October 2018.
