EF’s Underdogs: Mozaics share top 10 summer tunes

EF Underdogs introduced Mozaics last month with the band’s latest single, Before We Grow Old.

In the past, the band shared stages with the likes of Disclosure and Richard Ashcroft, and opened for Sundara Karma and Two Door Cinema Club.

On the festival circuit, Mozaics had a chance encounter with J-Hus, who invited them backstage where he admitted to rapping bars over Mozaics musical interludes during their set. What followed was an exchange of contact details and future collaboration plans.

The band kindly shared with us their favourite summer tunes and you can see the top ten below:

1. The Voidz – Pyramid of Bones

Ok so many it’s not a summer smash, but the song is catchy and the lyrics and meaning are probably more important now than ever. There’s a lot wrong with the world at the moment, and Jules is good at pointing it out. Also that RIFF.

2. Childish Gambino – This Is America

[brid video=”253901″ player=”531″ title=”Childish Gambino This Is America (Official Video)”]

I’m pretty sure this has more views than piano cat on YouTube now so chances are you’ve seen it. A must see for Donald Glover fans. Dark but gospel and tribal vibes. Play at the family BBQ if you want to upset your aunt.

3. Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway – Lives

Everybody dance!! What an incredible way to mix traditional dance, Armenian culture, metal and Daron Malakian. Perfect for when you’re actually quite drunk and want to express yourself physically.

4. Bruce Springsteen – Dancing in the Dark

Requires no explanation. Play this at your summer shindig and everybody smiles. The Boss.

5. The Futureheads – Decent Days and Nights

[brid video=”253913″ player=”531″ title=”The Futureheads Decent Days & Nights (Original Version)”]

This is just so feel good and every change makes you more energetic. I hope they still move this well on their heels.

6. Foals – Hummer

[brid video=”253916″ player=”531″ title=”Foals Hummer (Video)”]

Another 4/4 beat with overlaid tight guitar riffs to die for. Your friends might only know the ‘new’ Foals tracks, so pull this up and educate.

6. Rupert Holmes – Escape

This is feel good simple music that anyone can relate to. Great at a summer BBQ with friends. Everyone sings along.

7. Santana  – Black Magic Woman

It’s Santana and a belter! Especially when it’s warm out.

8. Blink 182 – What’s My Age Again

This track speaks for itself.
