Mellie (Bellamy Young) welcomed President Rashad (Faran Tahir), the President of Bashman, to the White House for a state dinner on the latest episode of Scandal.
Her aim was to reach an agreement on nuclear weapons in Bashman and sign a treaty. When she found him hostile, Olivia (Kerry Washington) enlisted Jake (Scott Foley) to help her dig up dirt on him.
Jake discovered that Rashad was sending his niece to a University in the US, which contradicted the position he held in his own country. Olivia tried to threaten him but he refused to give in to her.
During the dinner Huck (Guillermo Diaz) noticed that one of the military men he was talking to was actually an assassin whose target was Rashad. The assassin almost completed his mission but was stopped by security.
Following the incident Rashad changed his mind and agreed to Mellie’s treaty.
Elsewhere Quinn (Katie Lowes) tried to get clients for QPA and upset Charlie (George Newbern) in the process, David (Joshua Malina) tried to rekindle his relationship with Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and Olivia took Curtis (Jay Hernandez) back to her apartment and was shocked to find Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) waiting for her.
The next episode of the season is Day 101. During the first 100 days of Mellie’s presidency, Fitz takes up life as an ordinary citizen for the first time in years.
