Producer and songwriter Naughty Boy has teamed up with Joe Jonas for new single Once Chance to Dance.
Co-written with Emeli Sande, One Chance to Dance is the first single taken from Naughty Boy’s upcoming second album expected in spring 2018. Described as a ‘future late night dancefloor classic’ the track features Joe Jonas’ unmistakeable vocals.
“I had the tune just sitting there for about a year,” explains Naughty Boy (a.k.a Shahid Khan) discussing the song’s origins. “I knew I wanted to do something with it for my new album but I just wasn’t sure exactly what at the time. I’m a big fan of (DNCE Song) Cake by The Ocean and when the guys were in town recently I met Joe, he came in the studio and we just vibed on the tune.”
One Chance to Dance was inspired by the songs of Michael Jackson with Naughty Boy commenting, “But it’s about not being as good as Michael Jackson. I was thinking about his songs and a new pop tune that would reflect that era of music and that’s why it has a sort of old school sound to it.”
Over his career to date Naughty Boy has amassed more than 2.1 billion streams including 1.5 billion for his collaboration with Sam Smith La La La. His track Runnin’ (Lose It All) with Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin has sold more than 2.5 million copies.
Naughty Boy is currently working on his second album, the follow-up to 2013’s Hotel Cabana.
