Courtney Marie Andrews has premiered the music video for her new single Irene.
The music video sees Andrews working at The Family Grocer. Failing to impress her boss, Andrews decides to dress up as a clown and have some fun, which of course doesn’t go down well!
Irene is the third track to be lifted from Andrews’ album Honest Life. The song is described as being ‘an anthem for the timid, a beautiful hymn to bolster confidence and believe in your potential’.
Speaking about the track Andrews says, “Irene is the little voice inside most of us, that says we aren’t good enough, or strong enough. It’s about shutting that voice off, while also accepting life’s inevitable struggles. It’s about coming to terms with who you are, and believing in that person. Irene was written for a friend who was going through a confusing time, but like some songs do, over time it turned into a song about not only myself, but all of the women that I love. Irene is amazing, she just doesn’t know it yet.”
In the US an indie store exclusive re-release of Honest Life, with a bonus 7″ of unreleased recordings, is being released by Mama Bird Recording Co. & Fat Possum Records. The limited edition 7″ single, which features new tracks Sea Town and Near You, will be released in Europe via Loose on 15th September.
Loose will also re-release Andrews’ 2013 album On My Page on CD and for the first time on vinyl.
Andrews will return to the UK in August for a tour that takes her through to early September. The full dates are:
