Rhea (Teri Hatcher) launched a full invasion of National City on the penultimate episode of Supergirl.
Not only did she bring devastation and destruction on the city, she also kidnapped Lena (Katie McGrath) in a bid to force her to marry Mon-El (Chris Wood) and unite the people of Earth with the Daxamites. The President (Lynda Carter) and Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) attempted to get Rhea to stop her mission but she refused and attacked Air Force One, which they were riding in.
The President and Cat survived the attack thanks to Kara (Melissa Benoist) and it was revealed that the President was an alien. Once they were safe the President told the DEO to launch a cannon at the Daxamite mother ship but Kara tried to find another way fearing that Lena and Mon-El would be killed.
In desperation Kara turned to Cadmus and Lillian (Brenda Strong) for help. Using a Phantom Zone projector, Kara made it onto the ship but Lillian double-crossed her by rescuing Lena and leaving Kara and Mon-El.
Rhea revealed she had taken control of Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and let him loose to attack Kara.
The season finale is Nevertheless, She Persisted. Supergirl challenges Rhea as she fights to save National City. Superman returns and Cat offers up some wise advice.
