Empire resumed its third season in the UK last week and Lucious (Terrence Howard) and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) went to war over control of the company.

Following Lucious’ announcement that he was releasing a new album, it was revealed that he had reappointed Anika (Grace Byers) as head of A&R at Empire. The news didn’t go down well with Cookie and she retaliated by going on a rampage with a baseball bat at Empire.

The fiery incident ended with Cookie and Lucious kissing but she broke it off and told him she wasn’t going back there again.

Meanwhile Thirsty (Andre Royo) helped Becky (Gabourey Sidibe) get Xavier (Samuel Hunt) fired, and Shyne (Xzibit) and Andre’s (Trai Byers) plan to kill Lucious hit a hurdle when Nessa (Sierra Aylina McClain) and Tiana (Serayah) started feuding during a live performance.

Elsewhere Jamal (Jussie Smollett) befriended a fellow musician, Tory Ash (Rumer Willis) in rehab and the two recorded a song together.

The next episode of the season is Play On. Cookie tries to move forward with Angelo while struggling with guilt. Leah seeks Tariq’s help to take down Anika. Jamal and Tory team up in the studio.
