Sal (Elizabeth Banks) made a welcome return on the latest episode of Modern Family.
Going to dinner with Cam (Eric Stonestreet), Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Haley (Sarah Hyland), Sal was encouraged to stand up to her man and inspired to do so when she saw Haley confront Rainer (Nathan Fillion) in public. Of course choas ensued and a drunken escapade on Sal’s lover’s boat ended with her falling into the water.
Elsewhere in the episode Claire (Julie Bowen) hired a magician to help bring mystery to her and Phil’s (Ty Burrell) relationship on Valentine’s Day, Jay (Ed O’Neill) upset Manny (Rico Rodriguez) by preferring Joe (Jeremy Maguire) and Alex (Ariel Winter) discovered that she had a secret admirer.
The next episode of the season is Do It Yourself. Spurred by some recent DIY success, Phil convinces Jay to help him develop a property. Meanwhile, Claire finds a new love for cooking.
