Cambridge Folk Festival 2017 has announced that UK country duo Ward Thomas and multi-platinum selling band Indigo Girls will be performing at this year’s festival.
The two acts join the also announced Shirley Collins as part of an all-female lineup on Main Stages 1 and 2 on the Friday. The Cambridge Folk Festival takes place from 27th to 30th July 2017.
Olivia Newton-John, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Amy Sky will bring their collaboration Liv On exclusively to the festival on the Saturday evening. Loudon Wainwright III will perform at the festival on the Sunday evening.
Also performing at the festival are Irish accordion player Sharon Shannon, singer Cara Dillon, Fay Hield and The Hurricane Party, Admiral Fallow, Coven, Skerryvore, CC Smugglers, Blue Rose Code, Wildwood Kin, Mabon, Fara, Beoga and William The Conqueror.
Other folk and roots performers include The Furrow Collective featuring Rachel Newton, Lucy Farrell, Emily Portman and Alasdair Roberts, Niteworks, Belshazzar’s Feast, The Rheingans Sisters, Orphan Colours, Amythyst Kiah, Talisk, The Eskies, Brian McNeill, She Drew the Gun, Worry Dolls, Roxanne De Bastion, Amelia Coburn, She Shanties, Ceilidh, Chris T.T. and Alluri.
The festival’s Club Tent Showcases will see performances from Liverpudlian singer-songwriter Robert Vincent, contemporary Scottish folk band Tannara, Australian singer-songwriter Juanita Stein and Canadian troubadour Michael Bernard Fitzgerald.
Also performing are the previously announced Jake Bugg, headlining Sunday night with an acoustic set, Oysterband (Sunday), Lau, featuring Kris Drever, Martin Green and Aidan OāRourke (Saturday) and Hayseed Dixie (Sunday).
Guest Curator Jon Boden will perform over the Festival weekend with The Remnant Kings to preview his autumn 2017 album as well as guest curating elements of the line-up.
