The highly anticipated UK Americana Music Week, powered by Sweet Home Alabama, is set to make a triumphant return to Hackney from January 22 to 25, 2024. Themed “Growing Our Roots in Americana,” this annual celebration of Americana and Roots music promises a week filled with showcases, industry panels, special events, and the prestigious UK Americana Awards Show.
Following a successful inaugural partnership in 2023, The Alabama Tourism Department ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ returns as the headline partner for the week’s events. The festivities will kick off with a party, and full delegate passes and showcase wristbands are already on sale.
Acting CEO Charlie Pierce shared the Association’s plans for 2024, expressing excitement about the growth of Americana and Roots music in the UK. The week aims to bring talented artists to a broader audience, building on the success of the previous year. Sweet Home Alabama and other sponsors are acknowledged for making this event possible for the community.
Commenting on the partnership, Andy Facer, Account Director UK & Ireland for the Alabama Tourism Department, stated, “Alabama plays an integral role in shaping the landscape of Americana music. By sponsoring the UK Americana Music Week, The Alabama Tourism Department aims to bridge the geographical gap, inviting enthusiasts to experience the authentic charm of the state’s musical culture.”
