C2C: Country to Country 2017 – Darius Rucker profile

Few artists can move genres and maintain the level of success that Darius Rucker has managed.

Best-known as the frontman of Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius made his solo debut in 2002 with Back To Then. That album was an R&B and soul collection but it’s not a genre that stuck with him. In 2008 Darius signed a deal with Capitol Records Nashville, embarking on the start of a career in Country music.

The switch of genres paid off as Darius’ debut Country album Learn to Live topped the US Country Chart and achieved platinum status. Since that album Darius has released another three number one albums – Charleston, SC 1966, True Believers and Southern Style – and a Top 3 charting Christmas collection Home for the Holidays.

Over the course of his career in Country music so far, Darius has seen six of his songs become chart-toppers with 2013’s Wagon Wheel being his last one to achieve the impressive feat. Darius’ current single is If I Told You and it’s the lead single from the star’s forthcoming new album.

This month Darius will return to C2C: Country to Country, making his second appearance at the festival. He originally performed as part of the festival’s first year lineup and he will receive a rapturous reception from the 2017 crowd I’m sure.

C2C: Country to Country takes place at The O2 Arena in London from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th March 2017. For more information head over to www.c2c-countrytocountry.com.
