Vanessa (Eva Green) convinced Dr. Seward (Patti LuPone) to hypnotise her on the latest episode of Penny Dreadful.
The therapy sent Vanessa back in time so she could try and work out who her tormentor is. Dr. Seward’s hypnosis sent her back to her time in a psychiatric unit where Vanessa remembered interacting with a single orderly who we know as John Clare (Rory Kinnear) aka The Creature.
Suicidal, Vanessa refuses to eat and is force fed by the orderly, whom she attacks. Throughout her memories, Vanessa is restrained so she can’t hurt anyone or herself.
During her regression, Vanessa discovers that her new nemesis is Dracula.
The next episode of the season is This World Is Our Hell. Ethan and Hecate struggle to make it through the New Mexico desert, while Kaetenay finally reveals his intentions.
