Little Big Town are expecting an ‘electric’ audience at C2C

Little Big Town are no strangers to C2C: Country to Country having played the main stage before and launched the 2016 festival last autumn. Ahead of their performance the quartet sat down with press to answer a few questions.

Talking about their main stage performance tonight and the reaction from UK fans at their previous shows, Karen said, ā€˜Girl Crush at the time we played at Shepherdā€™s Bush wasnā€™t even a single in the US. Hearing the crowd sing it back to us was amazing. (Tonight) it’s going be electric.ā€™

Phillip continued, ā€˜The crowds here are amazing. Thereā€™s so much passion and love. Itā€™s inspiring’ with Kimberly adding, ā€˜Youā€™re good fans over here.ā€™

Asked about how it felt to be part of the Opry, Kimberly revealed, ā€˜The first time we played on the Opry stage was in ā€™99. We knew we wanted that to be our home. (Being inducted) is the greatest honour weā€™ve had bestowed on us.ā€™

We asked the band if they had any inkling that Girl Crush could be misinterpreted the way it was in the US by Country radio. Jimi explained, ā€˜We didnā€™t really think about it. We heard it and Iā€™d never heard that perspective of jealousy before.ā€™

Is a new album in the works yet? Phillip admitted, ā€˜We havenā€™t gone into the studio yet but weā€™re getting really close.ā€™

Little Big Town will be performing on the C2C: Country to Country main stage at Londonā€™s O2 Arena at 7.25pm today.
