Carrie Underwood discusses the growth of Country music in the UK

Carrie Underwood will be headlining C2C: Country to Country for the second time when she takes to the main stage later. The former American Idol winner, who is currently on her Storyteller tour, sat down with press to talk about her music and her career.

Talking about the impact that C2C has had in the UK since her first performance Carrie said, ā€˜It feels wonderful. I think thereā€™s a group of us that are really making an effort to meet our fans in other places. If the end result is more people being lovers of Country music thatā€™s wonderful.ā€™

Asked about the sound of her latest album Storyteller, Carrie explained, ā€˜Whenever you start making an album itā€™s a blank piece of paper. I started writing and waited for that sound to hit me.’

Would she ever consider making an acoustic record? ā€˜I think that would be really cool. It all depends on what Iā€™m into at the moment. Iā€™m always exploring different sounds and types of music.ā€™

Known for mixing things up on stage Carrie revealed, ‘I definitely like things that are unexpected and make people think ‘oh this is different’ but it was fun for me to do something different.’

Carrie Underwood is the headliner for day 2 of C2C: Country to Country performing at Londonā€™s O2 Arena at 9.05pm today.
