Friendfest is the hottest ticket in town

Comedy Central’s FriendsFest has just launched and it’s the hottest ticket in town!

Fans of the brilliant sitcom are in for a real treat – FriendsFest is an utter joy from start to finish and a true oasis for anyone who loved the show! Full of amazing sights, wonderful photo opportunities and unbelievable sets, it’s one of the best installations we’ve ever seen. Fans lucky enough to have secured their tickets to the sold-out event will have so much fun!

Friends actor James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther in the long running sitcom, has returned to his roots to help launch Comedy Central’s FriendsFest too. He was in attendance at this morning’s press launch and stayed to have pictures taken with fans.

The second batch of Comedy Central’s FriendsFest sold out in a staggering 11 minutes earlier this month as fans of the greatest sitcom of all time proved that they are still there for Friends 21 years after the first episode aired.

Monica’s Apartment features the iconic purple walls, kitchen and rear window, where the famous friends would spy on the ‘Ugly Naked Guy’. The gold frame around the peephole and vintage French poster are also on display, bringing one of television’s most recognised apartments to life.

An exhibition of original props showcases some of the most iconic items from the series, including:
– The White China Dog
– Monica and Chandler’s wedding invitations
– Monica and Chandler’s wedding vows
– The Geller cup
– Ross’ Science Boy magazine
– Buffay the Vampire Layer video
– Joey’s scripts from Days of our Lives and Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E
– Chalkboard from Central Perk

A Central Perk-inspired cafe includes the instantly recognisable orange sofa, table and lamp and serves complimentary coffee and cookies for all visitors from one of the sponsors, Lidl. Visitors who want to emulate Rachel Green’s hairstyles can receive a complimentary blow dry in Rachel’s Hair Salon in association with Soho Salons.

Other areas at Comedy Central’s FriendsFest include an area to play foosball and relax on lazy boy chairs like Joey and Chandler, and a working replica fountain set against a New York backdrop.

James Michael Tyler commented, “It’s amazing to think that Friends is still as popular today, as it was 21 years ago when we first started. Comedy Central’s FriendsFest brings together some of the most iconic sets and props from the show and I’m certain fans will love. I feel extremely nostalgic being back in Monica’s apartment and Central Perk.”

Viewers wanting to get into the mood for Comedy Central’s FriendsFest can watch episodes of Friends in chronological order, weekdays from 5pm on Comedy Central.
