World premiere of first Hitman playthrough

Io-Interactive and Square Enix have released the first playthrough from the upcoming Hitman.

Hitman is a single player creative stealth action game, featuring the world’s ultimate assassin, Agent 47, in the prime of his career. As an operative of the International Contract Agency, his job is to take out powerful, high-profile targets around the world. Where each location is a living sandbox, where every NPC has a name and every room matters. The game has a pure focus on taking out your target and complete freedom of approach. Where you go, when you strike and who you kill… is all up to you. You have the power and intelligence of Agent 47 at your fingertips and it is your choice whether to use brute force or orchestrate a genuine masterpiece of assassination.

The video focuses on the core Hitman experience – creative stealth gameplay, disguises, hiding in plain sight and the choice and freedom of approach that is the hallmark of the series. Featuring the Parisian “Showstopper” mission, the playthrough aims to give fans insight into the mechanics of Hitman while not spoiling the game. Check the video out below.

More death traps per square meter than ever before
Never has it been so dangerous to be a target in a Hitman game as Hitman fills the vast expanses of its levels with more death traps than ever before. Innocent looking gas heaters, mounted speakers, carelessly placed glasses of wine and beautifully ornate chandeliers all present the capable assassin with ample opportunity for murder.

Social Stealth
Disguise gameplay allows the intelligent assassin the chance to slip into off-limits areas unnoticed. Become anyone, infiltrate anywhere, reach your target and slip away unnoticed – this is the power of the Hitman disguise system. But, although they are powerful, disguises are not a free pass and you will need to be aware of enforcers that can see through your disguise. If detected, swift and brutal action is advised.

Master the living world
Using the environment and the NPCs as tools is vital to master if you want to be a silent assassin. Placing weapons into crates that are carried through security, placing explosives in the open for security guards to find and carry into the armory or even overhearing a secret conversation that gives you clues about how to get into that secret auction upstairs – these things all matter and allow you to plan your approach and execute your target with extreme prejudice.

Swiss Cheese Design
The level designers at Io-Interactive have shaped the Parisian palace much a like a Swiss cheese, ensuring there is a vast range of entry and exit points in the level and no dead ends anywhere. Approaching the job at hand from the basement or by climbing a drainpipe is now possible and exploration of the entire palace will reward you with intel, insight and opportunities that ensure your assassination will be a perfectly orchestrated masterpiece.

Complete Freedom
In the end, Hitman has been designed with complete freedom of approach in mind. Use the tools available – weapons, NPCs, crowbars, lockpicks and everything else – to create your own perfect assassination. Opportunities are everywhere. From crashing light rigs to a well-placed silenced sniper shot or a poisoned bottle of wine – the choice is yours. We provide the tools, you do what you want.
